Miyazaki, Japan to host Bronco Asia-Pacific Zone Championships

Following an outstanding Pony Asia-Pacific Zone Championships in Okinawa last week, the attention in the PONY Asia-Pacific Zone turns to Miyazaki, Japan this week for the Bronco Asia-Pacific Zone Championships. Over the next five days, eight teams spanning the Eastern Hemisphere battle for supremacy, as the Zone's best Bronco 12U team. Played at Kiyotake Sokken Stadium, the Bronco Asia-Pacific Zone Championships will feature China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Philippines and Vietnam in 18 games to determine who will receive the Zone's automatic bid to the Bronco World Series in Los Alamitos, California later this summer.

Following the tournament's opening ceremonies Monday morning, the teams will participate in round robin competition for three days before starting the semifinals on Thursday. The Bronco Asia-Pacific Zone Championship Game is scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m. View the tournament's official schedule below:

Saitama, Japan represented the Asia-Pacific Zone at the 2017 Bronco World Series, after the Bronco Asia-Pacific Zone Championships were flooded due to a typhoon. Chinese Taipei hopes to reclaim the Zone's title after winning it in back-to-back-to-back years from 2014-16. Additionally, CT won the Bronco World Series title in 2016. Seoul, Korea last won the Zone's title in 2013.
