Day 4 of the 2025 Bronco World Series

Championship Game: Tokyo, Japan (1) vs. Placentia, CA (3)

Runs were at a premium Monday at the Youngsville Sports Complex, as Placentia, California outlasted Tokyo, Japan 3–1 in a tightly contested, extra-inning battle. Both teams showcased strong pitching performances and solid defensive play, but a late surge in the eighth inning gave Placentia the edge.

Tokyo, Japan broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the fifth inning when K. H delivered a clutch RBI single to center, scoring the game’s first run. Placentia, California responded in the top of the sixth, capitalizing on a defensive miscue by Tokyo to tie the game at one apiece.

The deadlock held until the top of the eighth, when Placentia finally broke through. L. H worked a bases-loaded walk to push across the go-ahead run. Moments later, a passed ball allowed another runner to score, giving Placentia a 3–1 lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

T. D. started on the mound for Placentia and delivered a gutsy performance, allowing just five hits and one earned run over five and two-thirds innings. The right-hander struck out three and walked one. F. K. was lights out in relief, tossing two scoreless innings and striking out four without allowing a walk. Together, the duo kept a potent Tokyo lineup at bay.

Tokyo countered with a strong pitching effort of their own. H. N. got the start and threw three shutout innings, giving up just two hits while striking out one. The Tokyo bullpen held tough, but late walks and a passed ball proved costly in extras.

Placentia, California collected 10 hits in the game. L. H. and F. K. led the offense with two hits apiece. L. also recorded the team’s lone RBI, going 2-for-3 at the plate and coming up big in the decisive eighth inning. Placentia also played clean defense and made the most of their scoring opportunities.

For Tokyo, Japan, K. H., K. F., H. T., I. O., M. M., and K. T. each tallied one hit. Despite the offensive pressure, they couldn’t break through the Placentia pitching staff late in the game.

Congratulations to the 2025 Bronco World Series Runners-UP -  Tokyo, Japan! The team finished with a 3-1 record. Congratulations to the 2025 Bronco World Series Champions - Placentia, CA! The team finished with a 4-0 record.
